The Philippines’ official entry to the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, Bwakaw tells the story of Rene, a cantankerous elderly gay man who, having come out late in life, believes his best years are behind him. He humorously grumbles his way through his small-town existence, picking fights with the campy queens at the local beauty salon. But when his bickering relationship with rough-hewn taxi driver Sol suddenly turns friendly, Rene starts to feel the pangs of romantic love for the first time. There will be receptions in the lobby before and after the screening.
