Outfest: Rage, Desire Collide in Suddenly, Last Summer and Going South
DGA Theater 1 (Los Angeles, CA)
Two provocative, sexually charged films from rising Korean filmmaker Leesong Hee-il, Suddenly, Last Summer and Going South explore the tension between rage and desire. In Suddenly, a teacher is blackmailed into entertaining a love-struck student who wants to take the relationship beyond appropriate boundaries. And in Going South, a sergeant drugs his superior in the hopes of the pair running off together. Both of these stirring films will make you re-evaluate the victim-aggressor roles. Before the films, you can also enjoy a reception at the theater.
