This three-part evening is designed to show you how to plan your own outfit whether youre a Lizzy or a Darcy! to wear to the balls, Regency picnics, play-acting days, etc. we’re holding for Pride and Prejudice Year. Or join us simply to learn about the beautiful and fascinating history of clothing and culture. Includes a lively, illustrated lecture on Regency fashion (why the most radical change in the history of Western clothing took place), displays, gowns, bonnets, shoes, textiles and accessories, hairstyles, fashion plates and portraits. You will get detailed advice on patterns, fabrics, trim, sewing techniques, and accessories, as well as tips on locating materials and the common pitfalls of starting out. Bring your own projects, fabrics or sketches for feedback and advice.
