Cultural Collaborations Concert at Ford Amphitheatre (Hollywood, CA)

L.A. Jewish Symphony: Cultural Collaborations Concert

Ford Amphitheatre (Hollywood, CA)

For this year’s Cultural Collaborations concert, the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony assembles an eclectic program of dance and music from around the world, including pieces from Russia, Argentina, Israel and the United States. Kicking off the night is Eduard Fertelmeister’s symphonic suite Reb Tevye, a musical adaptation of Sholem Aleichem’s story Tevye the Milkman, made famous by the musical Fiddler on the Roof. Oscar-nominated actor Theodore Bikel will narrate the tale. Next up, 2013’s Young Artist Competition winner, violinist Kobi Malkin will be featured in the world premiere of Sholom Secunda’s Violin Concerto. Following the concerto, Argentinian tango dancers Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo will perform the U.S. premiere of Go Tango. For the rousing finale, BodyTraffic, one of LA’s premiere contemporary dance ensembles, will interpret Marc Lavry’s Israeli Country Dances Suite, highlighting Israel’s most popular dance forms.
