Non-Boring Original Opera 2013: A Contemporary Mash-Up of Famous Works

Each year, OperaWorks creates a new opera out of a mash-up of famous arias and scenes from the opera canon. Taking the pieces with special meaning for each performer, adding improvised dialogue and fusing them together into an original story allows both performers and you, the audience, to connect to these classical works from a contemporary viewpoint. It’s spontaneous and unscripted, with only minimal sets and costumes. And of course, it’s never boring! Opera fans will appreciate the way old favorites are transformed by new and exciting context. Those new to the scene will adore this exciting introduction to a genre that’s often hard to understand for the uninitiated.
