New York based Juno Award winning bassist, singer and composer Brandi Disterheft comes to Toronto for a special evening at the Paintbox featuring music from her latest release on the Justin Time label “Gratitude”. She has captivated audiences in Canada, Europe, Japan, China, Haiti and even Carnegie Hall. It’s not only her fiery bass playing that make audiences stand-up and holler, but also her innovative live shows. She can be heard playing on Oliver Jones and Hank Jones’ 2011 Grammy Award winning album “Pleased to Meet You” Having recently been under the apprenticeship of Miles Davis’ bassist, Ron Carter, this native-born Vancouverite was also Radio-Canada’s 2010 Ambassador and Revelation Recipient. Currently she is continuing her studies in orchestration at Juilliard. Her third album titled “Gratitude” features an all-star New York City line-up and heralds this promising talent from the north. $50 prix fixe 3 course dinner + performance. $20 admission only.
