Loose Tea Music Theatre presents La tragdie de Carmen! An opera at its most powerful, a raw and visceral adaptation of Bizets most popular work. Set in New York in the 1920s a concentrated night of love and death focuses on the fatal relationships between Carmen, a burlesque dancer, Don Jose a WWI vetran and the mob boss Escamillio, The score retains all of the most famous musical moments of the original; Carmens Habanera and Seguidilla, Don Joses Flower Song, and Escamillos swaggering Toreador Song. Directed by Alaina Viau Musical Directed by Jennifer Tung, and featuring Cassandra Warner in the title role, with Lisa Faieta as Micala, Ryan Harper as Don Jose, and Gergory Finney as Escamillo.Performed in French with English surtitles and dialogue.
