October is Islamic History Month! Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque cordially invite you to our Open House in celebration of Islamic History Month on Saturday October 26th. Muslim heritage in Canada dates back from 1871, four years after Canadas founding, where 13 European Muslims were recorded among the population. From the birth of our nation, Islam has found strong roots to flourish in a country that gives precedent to freedom of religion and expression. Fast forward 100 years later, Canada is now home to just under one million Muslims who vary from immigrants, second generation, and new converts. We now find Muslims contributing in almost every sphere of Canadian life, from popular culture to science, art, technology, literature, and civil society. In recognition of these contributions the federal government of Canada has named October Islamic History Month. Join Us next Saturday October 26th for an Open House at Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque In celebration of over a century of Muslim contribution to Canadian society. The open house runs from 10am-5pm.
