75th Anniversary of the October 30th, 1938 radio broadcast by Orson Welles. OCAD University Lounge, room 187. Event starts at 7pm, doors close at 7:10pm. “Ladies and Gentlemen, we interrupt tonight’s program for a special bulletin…” ” It is reported that at 8:50 P. M. a huge, flaming object, believed to be a meteorite, fell on a farm in the neighborhood of Grovers Mill, New Jersey, twenty-two miles from Trenton. ” “This is Orson Welles, ladies and gentlemen… We annihilated the world before your very ears… You will be relieved, I hope, to learn that we didn’t mean it. So goodbye everybody, and remember the terrible lesson you learned tonight.”
