The Great Upheaval: Masterpieces from the Guggenheim Collection, 1910-1918 showcases the dynamism, creativity, and innovation of art produced in Europe in the years leading up to and during the First World War. Focusing on the period from 1910 to 1918, the exhibition chronologically traces the achievements of these tumultuous years as artists experimented with new ways to create art while launching the Expressionism, Futurism and Cubism movements. The exhibition features nearly 70 works from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundations collection in New York, with paintings and sculptures from the most important artists of the time including Kandinsky, Mondrian, Chagall, Marc, Matisse, Picasso, Brancusi and Modigliani. Tickets for The Great Upheaval: Masterpieces from the Guggenheim Collection, 1910-1918 are $16.50 for students and youth ages 17 and under, $21.50 for seniors and $25 for adults. Admission is FREE for AGO members and for children ages five and under. AGO members also have access to an exclusive advance preview of the exhibition from Nov. 2729, 2013 before it opens to the public.
