Galleria 814 invites you to celebrate the opening of Leone McComas’ solo exhibition Im Right Here, I Always Will Be on Friday November 8th from 7-11pm. A Toronto based painter and illustrator, McComas presents the first showing in Toronto of her Florence series Larmour.” Incorporating “L’Armour” with more recent works, McComas investigates the rejection of vulnerability amongst women and the layers of defence used to mask it. Working within the themes of disillusionment, encasement and defeat, LArmour is contrasted by a new series of work, which corresponds with LArmour where it ends, probing the susceptibility of oneself in a state of post-love. Rich with attitude, stubbornness, satire and self-realizations, the two series inform each other through comparison, uncovering a dual, even paradoxical nature of the self. Im Right Here, I Always Will Be runs from October 29th-December 3rd. Curated by Liz Havenaar.
