A shift from buying to streaming, touring costs increasing, and competition for the entertainment dollar has certainly made financial success more difficult. Still, there are artists out there doing it. A big part of their success is being aware of all of the revenue streams that are available, as well as how to maximize each and every one. In this panel, well take a closer look at an artists career to pinpoint the various opportunities for monetization. Well have an added focus on the often uncollected royalty revenues from organizations like SOCAN and ACTRA RACS, as well as emerging revenue streams from the likes of YouTube and more. Panelists: Rodney Murphy SOCAN (http://www.socan.ca/) Lee-Anne Wielonda ACTRA RACS (http://www.actra.ca/racs) Benji Rogers – PledgeMusic (http://www.pledgemusic.com/) a representative from Coalition Music (http://www.coalitionent.com/) The MusicOntario Workshop Series is funded in part by Ontario Arts Council with additional support provided by ACTRA RACS and TicketBreak http://www.arts.on.ca/ http://www.actra.ca/racs http://www.ticketbreak.com/ We’d also like to thank VIA Rail, our travel partner. http://www.viarail.ca/ MusicOntario is a division of the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA). http://www.cimamusic.ca/ Foundery Coworking & Events 376 Bathurst St., Toronto, Ontario
