Humber College students are organizing a MO wrap-up party to support Movember Canada, the popular moustache-growing charity that has inspired a movement in mens health. Taking place from 8 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Cadillac Lounge, the event will bestow the royal treatment upon Mo Bros and Mo Sistas. The nights theme, MO is King, celebrates another successful Movember season and memorable royals in legend, history and pop culture. Local talent indie band South of Bloor and DJs Neon Knights will perform live. Brave partygoers who flaunt their moustaches could win the MO throne, and some fantastic prizes. Come in costume or, at our regal portrait sitting, style and photograph your own with props. The Cadillac Lounge will serve specialty drinks with a royal twist. Tickets are $20 at the door, with all proceeds going to Movember Canada. MO is King represents the culmination of multiple fundraising efforts at Humber. The goal: to raise $5000 for mens health research. Students have already held bake sales and staged information launches at North and Lakeshore campuses, including the annual shave down at a varsity basketball game. As a network, Humber is participating in Movembers Big Mo on Campus challenge, which rewards Canadas top fundraising school with a personal visit from astronaut Chris Hadfield.
