Homeless Connect Toronto, in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Toronto, is hosting the screening of the SkyWorks documentary, Home Safe Toronto on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 7PM. The main objective behind screening this documentary is to raise awareness about the reality of homelessness in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. In addition to highlighting the varied circumstances leading to homelessness, the film also reveals the often ignored issue of “hidden homelessness” among many individuals and families in the city. Following the film screening, there will be a brief Q & A on the documentary with the Executive Director of Homeless Connect Toronto. She will also take the opportunity to introduce Homeless Connect Toronto – a new not-for-profit organization using a community-based approach to tackle homelessness in Toronto. All proceeds will go towards the main Homeless Connect Toronto event in April 2014. *Homeless Connect Toronto emerged out a successful model already implemented in several communities across North America.
