Now in its fifth year, the Palisades Playwrights Festival presents three staged readings of new plays by friends of the theater company. Enjoy wine and small bites and join fellow theater-goers in experiencing the creative process come to life on stage. First up is The Rape of the Chambermaid by H. Lee Sarokin, based on the real-life case of disgraced French diplomat Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who was accused by a hotel maid of attempted rape. In Roy Battocchio’s Dead Wrong, Rose Corelli has taken it upon herself for years to see that the ashes of dearly departed family members are lovingly scattered in the family vegetable garden behind the house. Now scads of ashes seem to be arriving at the house, though, and Rose finds herself in a hilarious quandary trying to deal with the deluge. And in the one-act comedy Rondo a la Condo by Diane Grant, it’s Halloween. Things have gone haywire, and to top it all off, Orson’s wife, Betsy, is deathly afraid of going to the dentist. Then a stranger knocks on their door. He’s on a mission — and he’s a dentist. Your voucher lets you see all three performances on three successive Tuesdays in April.
