Short of juggling fire or wrestling alligators, few things in the theater require more guts than improvising in the style of William Shakespeare. Improv itself is hard enough, but imitating the inimitable Shakespeare is a feat for the very daring or the very skilled. Luckily, the company members of Impro Theatre prove themselves both brave and brilliant (as well as fiendishly funny) in Shakespeare UnScripted. Come to the Carrie Hamilton Theatre of The Pasadena Playhouse to see the actors create an original story, complete with the monarchs, spirits, lovers and fools of Shakespeare’s world, drawing on nothing but suggestions from the audience, a deep knowledge of literature and their own bottomless creativity.
