Rest: Tender and Heartbreaking Drama
Segerstrom Stage, South Coast Repertory (Costa Mesa, CA)

A nursing home in northern Idaho is shutting down, making the futures of the longtime employees and three remaining patients uncertain. Even worse, Gerald, a 91-year-old patient suffering from Alzheimer’s, has wandered off. The search for Gerald takes place in the midst of a record-breaking blizzard, but that’s not the only crisis the staff is dealing with. This new work by award-winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale, A Bright New Boise) is an emotional and funny look at life with plenty of unexpected twists.
