LA Puppet Fest: "Awesome Puppet Films & Filmmakers"

For this program aimed at adults, the LA Puppet Fest will bring together an impressive selection of Awesome Puppet Films & Filmmakers. You’ll see Michael Bellavia’s Million Puppet March documentary, along with prerelease sneak peeks of two new films — Melvin the Birder, about an obsessive birdwatcher, and Hitori, the story of a lonely puppet in a world of puppeteers — and the latest Handmade Puppet Dreams collection, featuring puppet films from around the world. After the screening, panelists Jonathan Langager, Katie McClenahan and Kevin McTurk, along with moderator Sam Koji Hale, will discuss the filmmaking experience specific to puppet films — its processes, challenges and rewards.
