Saban Theatre (Beverly Hills, CA)
Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner and Jefferson Starship perform the landmark album Surrealistic Pillow in its entirety. Featuring classic-rock staples like “Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit,” the album helped create psychedelic rock and defined the sound of the “Summer of Love.” Starship co-founder David Freiberg and Grammy-nominated star of the off-Broadway hit Love, Janis Cathy Richardson also make up the long-running band, now in its fifth decade. Founded in the early ’70s with fellow Airplane alum Grace Slick, Jefferson Starship recorded a number of hits, including “Miracles,” “With Your Love,” “Count on Me” “Runaway” and more. Now they pay tribute to their psychedelic roots with this live performance of one of Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
