A Puerto Rican kid fights his way from a life on the streets of the Bronx to the Air Force welterweight boxing championship and beyond in actor-singer-dancer Joe Orrach’s autobiographical solo show In My Corner. Mixing boxing, tap dance, beats and music, In My Corner shines with the incandescent showmanship Orrach has become known for. He syncopates his storytelling with movements and rhythms of a jump rope, a speed bag and the boxing ring along with some sensational tap dancing, to tell a physical, dynamic story of the rough and tumble world. His wide array of talents eventually find Orrach as one of the biggest stars at San Francisco’s famed Teatro Zinzanni in this real-life coming-of-age story.
