Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na BATMAN! Who doesn’t remember watching the caped crusader as a kid? Batman turns 75 years old this year, having first appeared in Issue No. 27 of DC comic books in 1939. Celebrate by reliving the magic at an American Cinematheque Batman Double Feature. First up is the 1966 film inspired by the TV show. Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin battle a villainous alliance of the Penguin (Burgess Meredith), the Joker (Cesar Romero), the Riddler (Frank Gorshin) and Catwoman (Lee Meriwether). Then it’s on to Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. In this 1993 critically acclaimed animated feature, the caped crusader must exonerate himself after being framed by vigilante assassin the Phantasm for the murders of various mob bosses. The film features a great cast of actors providing the voices for the comic book characters, including Kevin Conroy, Dana Delany, Hart Bochner, Stacey Keach, Abe Vigoda, Dick Miller, Efrem Zimbalist Jr., John P. Ryan, Marilu Henner and Mark Hamill.
