Lincoln Stegman Theatre (North Hollywood, CA)
After a California winery successfully replicates its signature wine (and biggest export), a tiny Alpine country declares war on the United States in the Cold War satire The Mouse That Roared. The (fictitious) Duchy of Grand Fenwick fully expects to be defeated in this battle, and is counting on the victorious U.S. to then help it rebuild a “post-war” economy. But when the small country’s even smaller invading army improbably defeats America, things take a turn for the hilarious and bizarre. Based on a 1955 novel by Irish-American writer Leonard Wibberley, The Mouse That Roared was also made into a 1959 movie starring Peter Sellers.
