LA Phil Performs Bernstein & Gershwin Favorites
Hollywood Bowl (Hollywood, CA)

The LA Phil takes the stage at the Hollywood Bowl to perform favorite Gershwin tunes, including “Rhapsody in Blue” and “An American in Paris.” They’ll be led by Grammy Award-winning guest conductor Bramwell Tovey, known for his wit and showmanship. Early in his career, Tovey studied under Bernstein himself; the famous composer “discovered” Tovey performing at the Leonard Bernstein Festival and promptly invited him to attend his classes and rehearsals. Among the Bernstein selections to be performed at the Hollywood Bowl are Candide Overture and Three Dance Episodes from On the Town.
