Katie Rubin’s latest solo show — Why I Died, a Comedy! — follows the writer-performer’s hilarious struggle to balance her career and her faith. Rubin embodies several eccentric characters as she deals with a pushy producer, an intense writing deadline, the uncontrollable nature of her own imagination and all the distractions of the modern world. An actor, writer and stand-up comic, Rubin has toured the country with her previous shows, including Insides Out!, hailed by the Sacramento Press for Rubin’s “clever writing, along with [her] superb execution of verbal and physical comedic timing,” and now she brings Why I Died, a Comedy! to L.A.’s largest celebration of the performing arts — the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
