Already earning solid reviews — including a “go” from LA Weekly — and filled with intense fight choreography, Mickey Birnbaum’s new dark comedy centers around the squared circle, otherwise known as a wrestling ring in a suburban San Diego Backyard. Teenage buddies Chuck and Ray are getting ready to unleash their cartoon personas and choreographed antics on the neighborhood, when a visitor suddenly appears to create more physical family havoc. Meanwhile, Ray’s keeping a secret about his dad, a former pro wrestler stuck on the opposite side of the U.S.-Mexican border.
