DGA Theater 2 (Los Angles, CA)
Sarah Lepage is 20 years old and will do whatever it takes to achieve her running goals — including joining the team at McGill University against her mother’s wishes. In Montreal, Sarah’s singular focus is put to the test navigating life on and off the track, including her burgeoning feelings for both a female teammate and her fiancé, Antoine. It soon becomes obvious that Sarah has used to intense commitment to physical activity as a defense against feeling and thinking. Perhaps she’s actually running from herself. Coming off a successful world premiere at Cannes, this understated, finely crafted debut feature introduces Québécoise writer-director Chloé Robichaud as a fierce new filmmaker. This Outfest 2014 screening marks the film’s L.A. premiere.
