When six suburban Tel Aviv friends come together for their annual tradition of watching the kitschy Universong singing contest competition, one of them is nursing a broken heart. In an effort to cheer her up, the other five spontaneously compose and perform a song, which leads to a viral video that transforms these six non-professionals into Universong competitors! Colorful, musical, and infectious as bubblegum pop, this latest from director Eytan Fox is a delirious sugar rush of hilarity and fun. It’s making its Los Angeles premiere at Outfest 2014.
