Egyptian Theatre (Hollywood, CA)
In 1964, The Rolling Stones, James Brown, The Beach Boys and Chuck Berry all took the stage of the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium for one of most legendary concerts to ever occur in Los Angeles. Immortalized forever in a concert film of the same name, the Teenage Awards Music International Show (aka The T.A.M.I. Show) presented a rare cross-section of mid-’60s music acts at their most explosive. In this special 50th anniversary screening as part of the American Cinematheque’s “Turn Up The Radio: L.A. Rock On Film” series, you can watch the black-and-white recording of the epic live show then enjoy a discussion with director Steve Binder, moderated by John Landis (director of The Blues Brothers and Thriller), who attended the original concert.
