Laurie Kilmartin's "45 Jokes About My Dead Dad"

Laurie Kilmartin is a successful stand-up comedian and Emmy-nominated comedy writer with an album, a book, a podcast and, most importantly, a Twitter account, on which she became famous earlier this year for live-tweeting one-liners from her father’s death bed. A former staff writer for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson who currently writes for TBS’s Conan, Kilmartin has performed her hilarious observational stand-up about dating, motherhood and more on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Today Show, Comedy Central, VH1 and Showtime. In 2010, she was a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, but has become more recently known for her stream of terrifically grim online missives, posted as she watched her father die. The result was a master class in how humor heals and how it can shepherd a person, even a whole family, from a life with a parent to a life without one. Join her as she turns her poignantly funny tweets into a one-woman comedy show and films it for her first-ever stand-up special.
