Debut of Family Comedy-Drama From Parenthood Writer
Atwater Village Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)

Billed as “a Jewish, Midwestern Chekhov for the 21st century,” the world-premiere dramedy Better revolves around a New Yorker with a son and a failing marriage, who returns to the small town where she grew up to visit her dying father, played by Emmy-winner Joe Spano (Hill Street Blues, NCIS). But the warm embrace of family and old friends threatens to cool off fast when some surprising secrets are revealed and a romance is rekindled, in a poignant play that’s dosed with plenty of smart humor. The Echo Theater Company stages this debut from award-winning writer Jessica Goldberg (Parenthood).
