Performed in Spanish with English supertitles, this moving, frequently funny drama finds Mariela living an isolated existence in the desert with her husband, a famous painter dying from diabetes. When Mariela’s sister Bianca arrives, scenes from the past and present begin to intermingle, and secrets emerge regarding Mariela’s dead son, her husband’s past fits of rage and a painting they have kept on their wall that is shrouded in mystery.
