More scandalous than Scandal and more devious than House of Cards, Shakespeare’s ruthless political thriller finds Caesar facing a life-and-death struggle for power with his former “friends, Romans, countrymen” Brutus and Cassius. The actions of these friends-turned-conspirators set off a civil war at the dawn of the Roman Empire. Now Casa 0101 Theater stages an exciting new production as a part of Encuentro 2014, a historic, month-long theater festival co-presented by the Los Angeles Theater Center and the Latino/a Theatre Commons.
