Three-time Grammy winner Billy Childs leads this one-of-a-kind MUSE/IQUE performance that takes place inside the Rose Bowl locker room. Childs joins the MUSE/IQUE orchestra and conductor Rachael Worby, as well as friends from the jazz world, as they use the revolutionary language of America’s music to explore the theme of play and finding spontaneous joy with others. With structured rules and wild improvisation playing together like the best of friends, jazz is the perfect medium to bring the theme to life in this setting where games are planned and camaraderie cultivated. A composer, pianist and Guggenheim fellow, Childs has worked with such greats as Freddie Hubbard, Chick Corea, Dianne Reeves, Yo-Yo Ma, Michael Bublé and many more.
