The current Ebola outbreak in western Africa is the subject of a global effort to control the spread of disease. Amidst the media panic, graduate students from the University of Toronto want to clear up some of the misconceptions surrounding the virus. Learn about the biological and sociological factors that have contributed to the outbreak, why Ebola has spread so much in some areas and much less in other regions, and treatments that are currently being explored, considered, and implemented.

No scientific knowledge is needed to attend this event–all are welcome!. The talk is delivered by SciChat, a student-run adult outreach initiative by the Department of Immunology at UofT. ​
