Whittier Community Theatre presents Johnny Guitar, the musical the Outer Critics Circle named Best Off-Broadway Musical of 2004. Featuring a mix of ’50s rock, doo-wop and steamy ballads, Johnny Guitar is a tuneful, laugh-filled musical comedy that embraces and lovingly sends up ’50s-style movie acting, melodramatic romance, and rough-and-tumble cowboy action. This tempestuous tale of a sultry female saloon owner and a jealous tycoon is based on the 1954 cult classic film by the same name starring Joan Crawford.
