Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble
Carpenter Performing Arts Center, CSULB (Long Beach, CA)

Named after the church where it played its first concert in 1958, this legendary London orchestra is the most recorded chamber group in the world, with well over 500 sessions — including their best-selling soundtrack to the Oscar-winning Amadeus. Their associated chamber ensemble, currently on tour in the U.S., is made up of eight of their finest principal string players, who’re set to perform Strauss’ sextet from the opera Capriccio, Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht, Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings, Brahms Sextet No. 2 and more.
