This delightful program of Classical-era music, including Haydn’s pioneering Trumpet Concerto and one of Mozart’s masterful and melodious horn concertos, features two of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s new stars: Principal Trumpet Thomas Hooten, a Florida native, and Principal Horn Andrew Bain, originally from Australia. Set in the dazzling and iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall, the program also features Mozart’s much-loved Symphony No. 35 (“Haffner”) and Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 (“London”) — the Austrian composer’s final symphony. This concert marks the LA Phil debut of acclaimed Baroque and Classical specialist Andrew Manze, violin virtuoso and conductor.
