Popular BET series Being Mary Jane follows the life of Mary Jane Paul (Gabrielle Union), a young, single, successful African-American news anchor juggling a demanding job with a complicated personal life. In advance of its season two premiere, the Paley Center welcomes Union along with the show’s creator (Girlfriends, The Game) Mara Brock Akil, director Salim Akil (Sparkle, Jumping the Broom) and other members of the cast and creative team for an episode screening and conversation reflecting on why the series was one of last season’s breakout hits.
