Spirit of the Season, the annual holiday concert and community event from Japanese jazz-fusion band Hiroshima, returns to downtown L.A.’s Little Tokyo district for its 11th anniversary celebration. Together for nearly four decades, Hiroshima features founding members Dan Kuramoto (flute), June Kuramoto (koto) and Danny Yamamoto (percussion and drums) along with keyboardist Kimo Cornwell, bass guitarist Dean Cortez and taiko player and throat singer Shoji Kameda. For this special show, they’ll be joined by former Hiroshima vocalist Terry Steele, Hawaiian chanteuse Yvette Nii and acclaimed harmonica virtuoso Tex Nakamura (former member of WAR). This festive concert will feature Hiroshima’s unique take on holiday songs such as “Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer” and “Silent Night.”
