Gena Rowlands In Person With Gloria, Minnie and Moskowitz
Egyptian Theatre (Hollywood, CA)
Check out a great John Cassavetes double feature and hear from multi-award-winning actress Gena Rowlands at this special American Cinematheque event in Hollywood. One of the most successful personal and professional movie pairings ever, the husband-and-wife directing-acting team of Cassavetes and Rowlands produced ten films, including the 1980 crime drama Gloria and the 1971 comedy Minnie and Moskowitz. Rowlands was nominated for both the Oscar and Golden Globe for her performance as Gloria, a gangster’s girlfriend on the run to protect a young boy from the mob, and starred with Seymour Cassel, along with her parents and young kids, as Minnie, a museum curator who’s courted by a parking lot attendant. She’s set to appear between the two films for a discussion.
