Autumn Gallery + Retail space presents their second show “TWO” featuring the abstract paintings of Patrick Nunziata and Robert Ross. Opening Reception at 478 Roncesvalles Ave. on Saturday January 17, 2015.
Within faithful obscurity, Patrick Nunziata’s paintings seek to evade objective understanding. Through a range of vague signifiers, shifting symbology and competing grounds his work is intended to remain enigmatic. Existing in the spaces between figuration and abstraction the work shifts from paintings with multiple personalities to dynamic shifting structures, each work can be read in multiple ways to a single viewer.
Exploring the methods of “Captured Fusion”, Robert Ross creates detailed and unique works that remain completely consistent with the entire set. These fresh works are abstract and non-representational with no intended conceptions other than an impression of beauty. The abundance of random detail can lead the viewer to visualize striking yet obscure images. Modest, natural, and iconic, these paintings are intended to interest and stimulate the eye of the beholder.
