de México, returns to the U.S. after a five year hiatus, and now brings an exciting program to Northridge. The Mexico City-based ensemble has toured North America, China and Europe and comes to Valley Performing Arts Center to perform a concert featuring the works of Enrique Granados, Joaquín Rodrigo and Manuel Ponce. Joining the orchestra for this performance is Alfonso Moreno, one of the world’s greatest interpreters of classical guitar, and piano soloist Irina Chistiakova, an acclaimed Russian child prodigy quickly blooming into a virtuosa of formidable power. Acclaimed conductor Enrique Bátiz leads this exceptional cultural treasure in a celebration of only the ensemble’s home country but the deep musical heritage common to us all.
