Gabriel Teodros is a critically-acclaimed emcee, storyteller and teaching artist. Born and raised between Seattle’s South End and Central District, his music has traveled and taken him on tours all across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Ethiopia and South Africa. His music is a combination of Hip Hop and Soul, desperation and vulnerability, imagination and Afrofuturism. He’s gotten stellar reviews everywhere from Rolling Stone to Okayplayer to URB Magazine, he topped the CMJ Hip Hop charts with 2 different albums, and has shared stages with countless artists as diverse as Mos Def & Talib Kweli, Zap Mama, Digable Planets, Lupe Fiasco and Fishbone. In 2014 Teodros released 2 solo projects: Children Of The Dragon – a journey through time, Hip Hop, Ethiopian musical traditions and shifting homelands with Washington, DC-based producer AirMe, followed by Evidence Of Things Not Seen – a James Baldwin-inspired portrait of right now with Auckland, New Zealand-based producer SoulChef. In 2015, Teodros will make his speculative fiction debut with a story published in Octavia’s Brood: Science Fiction Stories from Social Justice Movements AK Press, April 2015.
