Malibu Playhouse (Malibu, CA)

"God of Carnage"

There’s a moment near the beginning of God of Carnage where the audience falls silent … then begins to roar with laughter. You’ll know it when you see it, and when you reach this tipping point, you’ll know you’re in for a heck of a ride. Yasmina Reza’s comedy of bad manners starts conventionally and ramps up the insanity as it goes along. It all begins with two couples meeting to work things out after one of their children attacks the other in the park. As the evening progresses, their behavior goes from civilized to outrageous as each couple tries to pin the blame on the other for the incident. From acid dialogue to broad physical comedy, this play will defy your expectations at every turn, becoming more hilarious with every scene. The Malibu Playhouse welcomes back audience favorites Kathleen Dunn and soap stars A. Martinez and Nick Stabile, and introduces newcomer Courtney Rackley with a bang. God of Carnage is directed by the award-winning Graeme Clifford (Frances, Gleaming the Cube).
