SFJAZZ Collective

The eight-member all-star, multicultural ensemble known as the SFJAZZ Collective focuses its spotlight on one musical legend each season, as well as introducing a new piece by each of its members. The acclaimed octet recently celebrated its 10th anniversary after year-long salutes to greats like Coltrane, Monk, Coleman and even Chick Corea and Stevie Wonder, and now they’re turning their talents to iconic jazz saxophonist and conductor Joe Henderson. After more than 40 years as a respected artist on Blue Note and Verve, Henderson finally won the first of three Grammys for his legendary 1992 album Lush Life, introducing him to a whole new generation of fans. The SFJAZZ Collective brings its latest tribute to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, along with their exciting original compositions.
