Walsh, who will moderate a panel discussion at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre about the artistic and design genius of the sequence, featuring Patricia Ward Kelly, an author and the widow of Gene Kelly, scenic artist John Moffitt, cinematographer and film historian Michael Lonzo, and costume designer Mikael Sharafyan (the nephew of Irene Sharaff, a costume designer on the film). Relive the dancing, singing and wise-cracking of Kelly as a struggling-to-make-it painter in Paris who’s caught in a love triangle, and then learn about the behind-the-scenes magic that went into the making of this gorgeous sequence in An American in Paris, which took home five Oscars, including Best Picture, Cinematography and Art Direction.
