Bluesy wailer Robert Plant was plucked from obscurity in the English countryside to become the frontman for one of the biggest rock groups of all-time: Led Zeppelin. When the band went their separate ways after the death of drummer John Bonham, Plant was not yet done with rock ‘n’ roll and it wasn’t nearly done with him. In 1982 he embarked on a solo career and never stopped rocking. 20 years later, he formed the Sensational Space Shifters, featuring former Cast guitarist Liam Tyson, and last year he put out one of the best albums of his solo career, lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar, backed by the band. Hear songs from the album, which Plant describes as “a celebratory record, powerful, gritty, African, Trance meets Zep,” as well as classics from his solo career when Plant and and his Sensational Space Shifters drop in for a night at the Greek. Rootsy rocker JD McPherson will open the show with his ’50s-inspired rock ‘n’ roll vibe.
