Japanese Drum Ensemble TAIKOPROJECT Presents Rhythmic Relations 2015

Freud Playhouse at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA)

TAIKOPROJECT: "Rhythmic Relations 2015"

Long before there was Blue Man Group or Stomp, Japan was celebrating the power of percussion ensembles with the traditional art of taiko, a technique that gracefully combines movement and rhythm for a heart-pounding show. With over 50 performers pounding on the largest taiko drums in Southern California, TAIKOPROJECT quickens the pulse with bombastic beats and energetic choreography. For this show, titled Rhythmic Relations 2015, TAIKOPROJECT will be performing songs from their latest album, Our Many Sides. They will be joined by sister groups Bombu Taiko and Kitsune Taiko, who will be presenting traditional works as well as new compositions for an evening of community taiko along with some of the most innovative new American taiko music around.
