An appearance on fellow Cleveland native Kid Cudi’s critically acclaimed 2008 mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, sprang King Chip into the spotlight. Since then, the rapper formerly known as Chip tha Ripper has popped up on many of Cudi’s albums, and been featured on dozens of tracks by artists the likes of Big Sean. He’s also released a handful of his own projects, including his new album, 2015’s CleveLAfornia. His stop at The El Rey Theatre, one of L.A.’s most historic and beautiful venues, will celebrate its release.
