Bernstein’s In/Side Story: MUSE/IQUE Outdoor Concert

MUSE/IQUE reimagines Leonard Bernstein’s iconic West Side Story for a new century with a mix of opera, hip hop, jazz, classical, poetry and modern dance, in a fitting finale to its Summer of Sound salute to the Great American Composer. Along with new versions of “America,” “Krupke” and “Cool” from Rachel Worby’s MUSE/IQUE, you’ll also be treated to Naomi O’Connell and Brenton Ryan’s operatic performances of “Somewhere” and “Maria.” Sekou Andrews and Steve Connell contribute poetry, and Frit and Frat Fuller of KIN Dance Company are also set to take the stage. Enjoy a picnic and this sure-to-be-entertaining show at Caltech’s Beckman Mall Lawn.
